Citra Hops are a product of crossbreeding of Hallertauer Mittlefruh, US Tettnang, Brewer's Bold and East Kent Golding. Citra Hops are a very popular hop for use in American style IPAs, imperial IPAs and general hoppy beers. Very intense citrus described as grapefruit, melon, lime, gooseberry, passion fruit and lychee aroma and tastes. Citra Hops are usually used as an aroma hop but can be used as a bittering hop.
Typical Alpha Acids Citra Leaf Hops- 11% - 13%
Beta Acids - 3.5% - 4.5%
Co-Humulone - 22 - 24% of alpha acids
Storage - 75% alpha acids remaining after 6 months
Total oils - 2.2 - 2.8 mls/100g
